Paula Robertson, LTH Founder, has a passion for motivating others to succeed. From 2003 - 2005, Paula was the Dallas Galloway Training Program Director, training hundreds of runners and walkers on their way to completing their first half or full marathon. Through training these runners, in 2004 she was inspired to found the Love The Half Challenge, dedicated to celebrating the half marathon and those who enjoy completing half marathons regardless of their finish time. In 2005, Paula founded Heels and Hills to promote women’s fitness for both first timers and seasoned veterans.
Libby Jones, former President of Dallas Running Club, was instrumental in designing and implementing DRC’s first half marathon training program in the spring of 2008. Libby was also a mentor and training walk leader for training participants to complete the Susan G Komen 3 Day Walk (60 miles).
Paula and Libby worked together for four years while Libby was Volunteer Coordinator, Co-Race Director then Race Director for “The Half”, now known as the Dallas Running Club Half Marathon. In 2009, Libby became Heels and Hills Co-Race Director and was instrumental in the Heels and Hills vision growing from one annual event to two half marathons and eight monthly mini-events.
During the summer of 2009, Paula and Libby decided to create a Texas Love The Half Challenge that would begin and end with the two Heels and Hills signature half marathons.
